Maxximus LNG 2000 is a natural gas-burning, 1,500 horsepower supercar

How do you build one of the world's quickest vehicles? Well, for chauffeur Marlon Kirby and financier David McMahan, you'd start with one of the most-capable vehicles on the road - the Ultima GTR - then you'd fuel it with natural gas.

In this case, Kirby and McMahan took an all-aluminum V8 engine that gulps down both liquefied and compressed natural gas to crank out upwards of 1,500 horsepower. The vehicle, called the Maxximus LNG 2000, is the successor to the amazing Maxximus G-Force.

Also said to be in the works is the Prodigy, another natural gas-burning vehicle with 2,000-plus horsepower and a multi-million-dollar price tag. The LNG 2000 is in the early prototype stage and the design has not been finalized. So, for now, we have just one rendering of the vehicle. Regardless, the Maxximus LNG 2000 has the looks of a gas-guzzling supercar, but by virtue of its ability to burn natural gas, it's sort of green, right?
